The current chairperson of the AStA Göttingen is Jan Stefes.

He represents the entire student body, coordinates the work of the AStA’s various departments and takes care of all topics that cannot be assigned to any specific area. In addition, he prepares the AStA’s regular meetings, writes and signs contracts and legal texts are written and signed, and decides about the assignment of tasks. The chairperson assists with the financial and organisational planning of projects organized by students for students.
