The AStA Department of External Affairs is headed by Max Kerwin

The external relation department works on the topics of internationalization and networking and is the first point of contact for international students in the AStA. The representation of student interests outside of the university is also part of the external departments tasks. Next to that is the AStA’s public relations work located here. 

In concrete terms, networking here means that we get in touch with student representatives from other universities, universities abroad, but also initiatives from Göttingen, exchange information and work together on specific topics.

Exemplary for this are the meetings with the LandesAstenKonferenz (LAK), the annual participation at the general meeting of the DAAD and the complimentary student meetings before, as well as the general meeting of the Student Bodies to discuss recent developments and problems relating to University politics.

DAAD representation

We represent the Student Body of Göttingen as part of the LandesAstenKonferenz of lower Saxony and within the politics of lower Saxony.

The public relations work attached to the external affairs department is responsible for all the social media channels owned by the AStA.

We engage in more international collaborations with other Universities and Student Bodies for a more open minded Uni.

We represent the Student Body of Göttingen towards the DAAD to further enhance the scientific discourse on a global scale.
