Warum protestieren Menschen für das Klima, wie sieht ziviler Ungehorsam aus und was darf der Staat als Reaktion auf diese Protestform? Zu diesen Fragen werden zwei Klimaaktivist*innen sowie Jan-Ulrich Dittmer (forscht an der Humboldt Uni Berlin zu zivilem Ungehorsam in der Klimakrise) ihre Perspektiven schildern. Moderiert wird die Veranstaltung von Kai Ambos (Lehrstuhl für Strafrecht und Strafprozessrecht, Rechtsvergleichung, internationales Strafrecht und Völkerrecht in Göttingen). Dabei steht der Austausch zwischen Aktivismus und Wissenschaft im Vordergrund. Außerdem soll es viel Raum für Fragen aus dem Publikum geben.

Die Veranstaltung findet in Kooperation mit der Jura-Fachschaft der Uni Göttingen statt und ist Teil unserer Veranstaltungsreihe zu Klima, Umwelt und Nachhaltigkeit. 14.01 Panel Discussion about climate activism and protest in a constitutional state

Why do people protest for climate justice, what is civil disobedience and how can the government react to this form of protest? This will be discussed by two climate activists and Jan-Ulrich Dittmer (researcher at the Humboldt Uni Berlin, civil disobedience during climate crisis). The moderator, Kai Ambos, holds the chair in criminal law, criminal procedure, comparative law and international criminal law. The podiums focuses on the exchange of acivistic and scientific perspectives, there will also be time for questions from the audience. The podium will be held in German. It is a cooperation project with the student association of law and is part of a series of events of the AStA Departements for Climate.
